MY JOURNEY TO COMPLETE THE
MISSION , CONNECT WITH MOVEMENTS AND MAGNIFY CHRIST by BUILDING MOVEMENTS EVERYWHERE…
June 30-
July 5, 2007 .
Busan , South Korea . About 20,000 Korean and international students from 127 countries around the globe in whom 77 Filipino students and staff participated to gather for this once in a lifetime, life challenging and changing…CM 2007: “Completing the Mission, Connected Movements, Christ Magnified”.
For months, I’ve been anticipating for this event and now as I look back to what had happened, I wholeheartedly want to share with you how awfully and surprisingly God weaved everything for me to join this grand event.
BEFORE CM2007
Passport Fixing. I am a scholar under our government’s department and the first time I asked their permission for me to join CM, they rejected it. I tried again with much prayers and claiming God’s promise in Prov. 16:3. I wasn’t disappointed. They approved my letter and gave me my clearance. I got my passport just at the right time,
March 14, 2007 . A day before the online registration closed.
Support Raising. This is my very first time to raise support and raising $800 made me doubt at one point. I can consider this one of the most significant faith-stretching thing that had happened to me through out my 3 years as a Christian. I’ve been praying for it daily and always think of God as an omnipresent God, that even though I’m only at one place praying, He will be the one talking to my supporters. I was reminded of a verse in
Psalm 139:8-10.. "Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me." Indeed, God is everywhere.
Just a week before our flight to Busan, I finished my support raising. What amazed me and continue to amaze me until now is that, God provided 21,000 for just a week. It’s more than half of the finances needed. This answered prayer made me trust God more.
Permission from Professors. This was the most smooth-sailing of all. I wasn’t really expecting it. I just asked and they approved my excuse letter right away. Phil. 4:6 just say so.
All through out, I hid and meditate Psalm 37:5 in my heart. Comfort, compassionate and hope cause this to me.
CM2007.
Haeundae-Centum City , Busan South
Korea
This is it!
Arrival and Community Time.
It was my first time at
Korea . Actually, it was my first time to travel abroad. What a great privilege given to me by our Father! At our first night, the Philippine team gathered together to get acquainted with each other. Hearing everyone’s testimony of their journey to CM cause everyone to praise God even more and level up our excitement on how we will have a personal encounter with Him.
The Philippine delegates as we sing and dance “Sundan mo ako” during our community time. Most of us don’t know each other so we have this fellowship. Seventy-seven students and staff from
Manila an regional campuses were there to participate in CM 2007.
Conference Venue
Global Connection.
Meeting relatives from abroad is such a wonderful feeling for everyone, isn’t it? What more if it’s your brother or sister? And not only one, not only hundreds but thousands of brothers and sisters in Christ were present in CM2007. Becoming aware of what God is doing in their areas widened my horizon and expanded my vision. Personally, I was stirred when staff-missionaries of CCC and students from closed countries shared their different stories on how they reached students and how they have a chance to know Jesus through personal and online(through www.everystudent.com) evangelism. They risk and continue to risk their lives to obey and fulfill God’s Great Commission to us.
With friends from
Taiwan , US,
Korea and
Malaysia . Behind us is the Busan tower and a relic of a large bell. Several friends in the picture coming different countries willingly adopt
Philippines in their prayers.
Korean’s Prayer and Korea’s Revival
Have you ever prayed boldly in all your life? Literally crying to God in prayer even around a crowd? Shouting at the top of your lungs to move our Almighty God by your prayers? Are you not ashamed at all to do these things? Even though people may think that your out of your mind?
Well, Koreans do not care at all. All throughout CM, I observed how passionately this young and old Koreans pray. How they earnestly hand-in-hand pray for a certain thing and how they recognize the power of prayer. They have moved God by their prayer and fasting and through this,
Korea was revived! From a country fully devastated by war, to a country full of progress and development. Certainly,
Korea is at it’s peak right now.

Plenaries.
Praise and Worship. Rev. 7:9
Praise and Worship during CM is truly magnificent. Like everyone present in CM says, it’s a foretaste of heaven. Imagine, 127 countries and almost a hundred languages joined together to worship and exalt our Lord. It was just like heaven! This just our concept of worship, but what’s worship in God’s view and what worship are we going to do in heaven? This CM conference made me more excited, thrilled and hopeful of my future in my real home.
Messages
“Plan great things for God, pray for it and expect great things from Him”. This was the message that captured my attention the most. It actually can summarize the whole message of all the plenary sessions. Having a clear vision of what God wants to do with your life, having a committed and undivided heart to do this thing and having a courageous and obedient action to make it happen. All these things to complete the mission, connect with other movements with same vision and topmost, to magnify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ worldwide! I believe Campus
Mission 2007 accomplish its goal to made every delegates of it expand their vision and aim to build movements everywhere.
Commitment Time
Nearly 20,000 students and staff realized the need for missionaries and made a commitment to reached the 6000 unreached campuses worldwide. This include, giving their time, energy and resources to fulfill the Great Commission. Also, this time gave us the opportunity to take time to think where God is leading us to go.
Celebration
Though it’s almost over, it’s good to celebrate what God had done for the past week. In addition, it’s more that worth it to celebrate because at the last night of the conference more or less than a hundred Koreans received Jesus Christ in their life as their Lord and Savior. Like them, they will begin in their new life in Christ and as for me and other CM participants. CM is just only the beginning; the real journey is when we are on our way home back to our own beloved nation.
